TANGMARG, Aug 21: Three people have been injured in northern Kashmir’s Tangmarg area after a wild bear went on a rampage, witnesses say.
They said a bear injured Habibullah Malik when he was working in his fields at Tumberhama just after noon.
The same bear also attacked and injured a man Abdul Hamid and a woman Hassina at Preswani in Kunzar of the same area, they said.
Hamid has been injured in the head. They have been sent to hospital for medical help.
Sources said wildlife officials were yet to reach the spot till last reports came in.
The incident comes only days after a bear injured a grandfather-son duo in the area’s Ferozpur village.
Attacks by wild animals are on rise in Kashmir valley as they are losing habitat owing to a large scale deforestation, officials say.
