JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has landed into hard waters after his Additional Public Relations Officer leveled allegations against him and accused him of involvement in various scams.
Deputy Chief Minister’s Additional PRO Kewal Kumar yesterday alleged that he was being threatened by the Deputy Chief Minister as he had certain proofs and records against the Minister in which he was allegedly involved.
The PRO alleged that Mr Chand threatened him of dire consequences and he also had a verbal duel with him in Srinagar and feeling life threat, he fled from the Srinagar and managed to reach Jammu.
Mr Kewal also told reporters that the Minister is hands in glove with the police due to which his complaint was not entertained by any of the police officer.
“I have proofs against the Deputy Chief Minister in the form of a compact disc,” he said, adding that he was being threatened by the aides of Minister.
The PRO, however, in a statement to media leveled allegations of corruption and rape against the Deputy Chief Minister and sought police security.
However, Mr Chand said, “The allegations are baseless and an attempt to tarnish my image and political carrier.” “Police and Media should verify the complaint and allegations leveled by the complainant,” he added.
