Kashmir capital’s old parts to have water shortage

SRINAGAR, July 8: Authorities have issued directions to people living in old parts of Kashmir capital Srinagar to store water as the supply will remain affected for two days starting Monday.

“Due to repairs and replacement of pipe lines near Zaina Kadal, the water supply for Zaina Kadal, Gurgari Mohalla, Nawab Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Kalamdanpora, Habba Kadal, Dal Hassanyar, Kani Kadal, Zaindar Mohalla, Karan Nagar and other areas in downtown Srinagar would remain affected from July 09 to July 10, 2012,” Executive Engineer, Water Works Division, Srinagar said.

“The consumers of the areas are advised to store the drinking water before the repairs of the concerned pipe lines,” he said.

The engineer has also provided numbers for assistance to people.

“In case of shortage of water, please contact the departmental Phone Nos. 2452047 and 2477207,” he said.
