SRINAGAR, June 26: Two people died by suicide in separate places in South Kashmir Kulgam’s district, police said Tuesday.
“A girl (name with held) of Qoimoh committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her home,” a police spokesperson said.
In another incident, a lady (name with held) of Dardgund in the same district committed suicide by taking poison and died on the way to hospital, the spokesperson said.
Police have registered cases and are investigating into the incidents,
Suicide cases are increasing in Kashmir valley with the death toll in Kashmir valley having gone to six in just eight days.
On June 21, a 35-year-old lady of Uri in North Kashmir and another lady of Srinagar committed suicide.
On 19th June, a mother killed herself by consuming poison but only after feeding some to her three-year-old daughter in Kulgam district.
