Two dead, 82 injured in Kashmir mishaps

SRINAGAR, May 16: Two persons were killed and scores others injured Wednesday in various road accidents across Kashmir.

A passenger bus turned turtle in Dad Ompura area of Budgam district in Central Kashmir, killing two persons and injuring 38, police said.

Meanwhile, 42 students were injured on Tuesday when their bus collided with a tractor at Bogund in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. The students were coming back from a picnic when the collision took place. The tractor driver was also injured.

Two other people were also injured in  accidents at various places in the valley.

All the injured were shifted to hospitals for help.

Deaths in road accidents have become a serious concern among people in the valley, who blame the authorities for failing to improve the conditions of roads and to keep a check on rash driving.

More than 98 people have died and more than a thousand injured in 744 accidents in just three months since January this year.
