SRINAGAR: Two students are among three people dead after a taxi collided with a lorry in south Kashmir.
Police say the incident, which also left seven injured, happened at Barsoo on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
The taxi, on its way to Srinagar, was carrying students of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and two of the dead were undergraduate students of engineering.
They have been identified as Kousar Mohiuddin, resident of Hanjiveera Pattan, and Sajad Ahmed Peer, resident of Budgam district.
The driver of the vehicle, Umer Farooq Reshi, has also died, police said.
Local residents who were present at the scene at the time of the accident told FreePress that the driver of the taxi lost control and collided with the lorry.
It is not known if the lorry driver has been taken into custody.
