JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today announced ‘One Model’ village per block of the state.
“One model village per block is an initiative as a part of ensuring the sustained development of the rural and far flung areas of the state,” Mr Sagar said while addressing a public gathering in Rajouri district of the state.
Besides model villages, the minister announced Rs 75000 per Panchayat, Rs 50000 for repair and renovation of the existing Panchayat Ghars in addition to the already released funds and as a part of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Rs 10 lakh to every Panchayat of the state for developmental initiatives.
Mr Sagar said the government has ensured empowerment of people at grass root levels by putting in place a vibrant Panchayati Raj system which has ensured that the people at ground level are empowered and included in day to day governance.
