JAMMU: Seven civilians were injured Thursday evening in shelling by Pakistani troops in Kanachak sector of the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistani Rangers used mortars and small arms to target paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) posts, a senior official said.
He said: “Some shells fired by the Rangers exploded in Garkhal village of Kanachak today (Thursday) evening, injuring seven people, including four women and a child. All the injured are members of a family.”
“The injured are being shifted to a hospital. BSF troops have retaliated the unprovoked firing by the Pakistani troops. Till last reports came in, exchange of fire were going on in the area.”
