SRINAGAR: No Army, BSF, CRPF and other heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on the highway, connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, for two days from October 26.
This has been done to allow free movement of vehicles, carrying ‘ Darbar Move’ officials and records of different department from summer capital, Srinagar to Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the only state in the country having two capitals.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has many a times expressed his views against the shifting of seat of the government to Jammu during winter when people in Kashmir need it more because of severe cold. Similarly, Darbar Move shifts to Srinagar during summer when people in Jammu need it more there, when temperature goes up to 45 degree.
