SRINAGAR: An independent member Sheikh Abdul Rashid today wanted to know the fate of the letters written by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting to return the body of Parliament convict Afzal Guru.
Raising the issue in the Legislative Assembly here today, he said Mr Abdullah has written a letter to Dr Singh, demanding an inquiry into revelations of former Army Chief General V K Singh about money being paid to politicians in Jammu and Kashmir since 1947.
Want to what will happen to this letter, he said.
Mr Abdullah and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti have writen letters to Dr Singh, demanding return of body of Guru.
I wanted to know from Chief Minister and Ms Mehbooba what happened to their letters. Have they received any reply?
Guru, convicted in Parliament attack case was hanged in Delhi’s Tihar jail in February this year and later buried in the jail permises, which evoked massive protests in Kashmir.
