Over 90 kg Cannabis Recovered in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police has recovered more than 90 kgs of cannabis leaves and straw besides destroyed bhung in south Kashmir, official sources said here today.

They said police in Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama set up special barricades at different places, besides, deputed men in civvies to gather information regarding narcotic trade in its area of jurisdiction.

During the search at a barricade, police recovered 45 kg cannabis leaves from Mohammad Akram Shah at Asthan Mohalla Panzgam while five more kg’s of cannabis leaves were recovered from the house of Ghulam Nabi Dar at Leadermud.

Both of them were arrested, they said. In another raid on a tip-off, police recovered 30 kg of cannabis straw from the house of one Mohammad Jamal Lone at Bandina.

In another similar raid, police recovered about 5 kg of grinded cannabis and seven cannabis leaves from the cowshed of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat alias Gul Bhat at Dogripora.
