SRINAGAR: Alleging that investigating institutions, particularly State Accountability Commission (SAC) have become defunct in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil today said people are not getting justice due to corruption, nepotism and favoritism in administration.
The SAC has become defunct so there is an urgent need to constitute an independent commission to probe the assets of politicians and bureaucrats in the state, Mr Vakil said in a statement here.
Former Minister urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take stringent measures to curb corruption and make the administration accountable.
‘Menace of corruption has eroded our system and common masses are not getting justice due to corruption, nepotism and favoritism, in administration,’ he alleged.
He urged the Chief Minister to look into the financial mess in various departments which is hampering the development of the state.
The former minister said due to red tapism in the administration image of the coalition government is getting eroded among common masses.
