SRINAGAR: A former militant of the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit has been shot dead in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police say.
Shabir Ahmed Mir was at his home in Chakijam Nagri village when gunmen barged in and fired bullets.
A police statement said Mir died on way to the hospital.
The attackers managed to flee.
The police have blamed militants for killing Mir. However no militant group has so far claimed the attack.
