SRINAGAR: Inhabitants of Khanwari and Kachgari areas of Zaldagar in Kashmir capital Srinagar have complained of difficulties due to water logging.
They said the drainage facility is been so poor that people had started to migrate to other places for the time being.
They have also complained lack of de-watering mechanism in the area.
“We had approached the government officials however no heed was paid to our repeated pleas,” a resident, Abdul Rehman Batloo told a local news agency, CNS.
Affected people said that their children are unable to attend schools as the lanes and by-lanes are inundated.
“We cannot leave the place due to the limited resources,” they said.
The residents have appealed to the district administration to direct concerned officials to act and redress their grievances.
When contacted MLA Habakadal, Shamima Firdous, told the agency that she visited the Khanwari area and found everything alright there.
“My constituency is facing no such problem,” she said.
The other two areas, she said, did not fall in her constituency. The concerned MLA could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
