SRINAGAR: A teenage girl was admitted to hospital in a critical condition after she attempted suicide in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, an official said on Saturday.
He said a 16-year-old girl, who was not identified, consumed some poisonous substance in her home at Yamrach, Kulgam.
She was immediately rushed her to local hospital from where she was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), where her condition is stated to be critical.
It was not immediately clear why she took this extreme step, the official said, adding that police have registered a case and initiated proceedings.
