Dialogue With New Delhi Futile, Says Indian Human Rights Activist

“New Delhi Not Sincere”

NEW DELHI: Prominent Indian human rights activist, Gautam Navlakha Sunday said that his country was not sincere in holding dialogue with separatist leaders of Kashmir to resolve the issue.

“Not only Separatist leaders but Civil Society of India is well aware of this bitter reality that New Delhi is not sincere about the resolution of Kashmir issue,” Navlakha told a local news agency CNS.

He added that the Civil Society of India were making every effort to make people of India aware of the reality in Kashmir.

Navlakha said when India was not ready to accept Kashmir as a dispute “then what purpose would dialogue serve”.

“People of Kashmir should be given right to self-determination. Let India accept this right first and then talk about dialogue,” he said.

Gautam Navlakha said that separatist leaders of Kashmir have a bitter experience of the dialogue process and they know the real face of Indian leadership.

“Let me tell you that India is not sincere as far as Kashmir issue is concerned. New Delhi is playing card and buying time from last 63 years. How long it could befool the people of Kashmir and the people of the rest of the country,” he said.
