SRINAGAR: Just one spell of rain and Srinagar, Kashmir’s main city, has turned into an ocean of sorts.
Heavy rains have flooded almost all roads here, affecting normal life.
Pedestrians were the most affected due to waterlogged roads while those driving vehicles also find it difficult to negotiate through flooded roads.
Many low-lying areas in the city and outskirts were inundated.

A number of business hubs, including Residency road, Hari Singh High Street, Amira Kadal, Regal Chowk, Exhibition road, Khanyar crossing and Magarmal Bagh in the civil lines remained flooded with rainwater due to poor drainage system.
Reports of similar situation were also received from other parts of the city and outskirts, including Natipora, Azadbasti, Bemina, Mehjoor Nagar and Indira Nagar.
In other major towns and tehsil headquarters, people alleged that due to faulty drainage system, majority roads remained under water, affecting normal life.
Those driving vehicles also find it difficult to negotiate through about one feet water because of damaged roads in Srinagar and other parts of the valley with big holes.
Very little repair work has been done despite improvement in the weather since March.
