SRINAGAR, Oct 13: At least three members of a family are among four people who died after the car they were travelling by lost control and rolled into a deep gorge in north Kashmir, police said on Saturday.
The accident took place in the mountainous area of Kupwara district, over a hundred kilometres north of capital Srinagar.
“On Friday it was found Kafeel-u- Rehman, 40, his wife, Mehmooda begum, his son, Umar kafeel, and the driver, Mohammad Mansha, 30, had died on spot,” a police spokesperson said.
He said the family had left home in Karnah for Kupwara on October 6 but had not reached their destination.
The police have lodged a case and have begun investigations.
