SRINAGAR, Aug 29: A gun-battle between security forces and militants that started in southern Kashmir on Wednesday morning has ended without any reported casualties, police say.
They said a combing operation was on when last reports came in.
Troops of 9 Rashtriya Rifles and police had launched a cordon and search operation in Brinal Lamad village of Qazigund, 75km from capital Srinagar, following information about presence of militants there.
An exchange of fire started with the hiding militants but no casualties were reported on either side.
Army sources said one to two militants were hiding in the area and that efforts had been launched to flush them out.
