SRINAGAR, July 31: A policeman was among three injured in grenade attacks by suspected militants in Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Tuesday.
Constable Anil Kumar was injured in a grenade explosion at Iqbal market near Town Hall Sopore, 55 kms from capital Srinagar, this evening, a police spokesman said.
He said the grenade was hurled by unidentified militants at a police party patrolling the apple town. Another grenade was lobbed at a heavily guarded police station at Sopore, however no one was hurt.
The injured cop has been referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsbility for the attack.
