Youth architects of new and modern Jammu and Kashmir.
BIJBEHARA: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on Saturday said work done on the ground spoke loud about the “people-friendly” policies his government adopted to steer Kashmir towards peace, prosperity, and economic welfare.
Talking to media persons at Audar after laying foundation of a bridge, Omar said that he had faith in Almighty and public support for the 2014 elections.
“People will judge us on our performance and achievements”, he said and added that the report card of the government was in the public domain.
The Chief Minister while interacting with the students, after inaugurating a Rs. 10 crore college complex for Degree College at Bijbehara, said that youth were the architects of new and modern Jammu and Kashmir.
“You are future of the state and in your hands are the progress, prosperity and well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Omar said his government was giving due attention to the process of expansion and consolidation in the education sector. He said accessibility to higher education has been flagged as an important concern so that students living in villages and far off places have ample opportunity to pursue their higher educational goals.
The CM stressed on making education an “apolitical sector” and creating befitting educational environment in educational institutions. He asked the students to devote fullest attention to their holistic educational development “as they have to face various challenges in their life after coming out from the educational institutions.”
