SRINAGAR: Two students and a woman were injured when they were attacked by a wild animal in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said here today.
They said a wild animal entered village Wanigam from nearby forest in Ganderbal and attacked people, who ran for safety.
However, two students and a woman were injured by the wild animals before escaping back into forest.
Wild animals have created havoc in the villages near forests in the Kashmir valley, where bears and leopards are often infiltrating and attacking people.
At an average of two people get injured by wild animals in the Kashmir daily.
The government has also announced increase in the ex-gratia relief for wild animal attack victims after the wildlife department find it difficult to stop the man-animals conflict.
